Privacy policy

Last updated 11 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from our store, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and what you've ordered.
  • Messages: anything you send us through our contact form or by email.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.
  • Account sign-in: if you sign in with Google or Facebook, that service shares your name and email address with us, and your profile picture if you have one. We never see your password, and we don't post anything to your account.
  • Device and browsing information: your browser, device, IP address, time zone, the pages you view and how you arrived at our store, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay. We never see or store your full card details.

How we use it

  • To process, pack and deliver your order, and to handle returns.
  • To answer your questions and look after you.
  • To check orders for fraud. Shopify screens orders automatically, and a small number may be held or cancelled as a result.
  • To understand how our store is used, and improve it.
  • To show you relevant advertising (see below).
  • To send marketing emails, only if you've opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the records the law requires, such as tax records.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the people and services that help us run the store:

  • The supplier who dispatches your order. Your name, delivery address and phone number are printed on the shipping label so your parcel can be sent to you.
  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders. You can read Shopify's privacy policy.
  • Payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay.
  • Google or Facebook, if you choose to sign in with them. They'll know you've signed in to our store.
  • Australia Post, to deliver your parcel.
  • Our email service, to send order updates and, if you've opted in, our newsletter.
  • Analytics and advertising partners, described below.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our rights.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our store. You can read how Google uses this information and opt out of Google Analytics.

We may use Shopify Audiences, which may share information about your purchases and your email address with advertising platforms so we can reach people who are likely to be interested in our pieces.

We work with advertising partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, who may use cookies and similar technologies to show you our ads on other sites and apps, based on your visits to our store. You can manage this in your Facebook ad preferences, your Google ad settings, or at youronlinechoices.com.au.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some keep our store working (your cart and checkout), and others help with analytics and advertising. Shopify lists the cookies it uses. Where our cookie banner is shown, you can use it to choose which non-essential cookies we use. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though parts of the store may not work without them.

Our store doesn't change how it works in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal.

Where your information is stored

Our store runs on Shopify, which processes information in Ireland and stores it in Canada and the United States, among other places. Our payment, analytics and advertising partners may also store information overseas. When your information goes overseas, we rely on these providers' own privacy and security commitments.

Keeping it safe, and for how long

We use reputable, secure services and limit who can see your information. We keep order records for as long as the law requires (generally five years, for tax), and other information only for as long as we need it.

Children

Our store is intended for adults. If you believe a child has given us their personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email hello@cuerava.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change how our store works. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
