Everyday care
The basics for every piece
Leather ages best with a little attention. Keep pieces away from direct heat and prolonged sun, wipe spills promptly with a dry cloth, and condition every few months with a leather-safe balm to stop it drying out. Store stuffed with tissue to hold its shape when not in use.

The essentials for
Hair-on hide
Hair-on hide keeps the natural coat of the cowhide, so treat it more like a coat than a leather surface. Dust it with a soft cloth or brush, always in the direction the hair lies, never against it. For marks, blot gently with a barely damp cloth, again with the hair, then let it air-dry away from sun and heat and smooth the hair back into place once dry. Never soak the hide, and skip harsh soaps and cleaning sprays. Hair-on cowhide sheds hair with use; this is natural and is not covered by our warranty.
Pieces with hair-on hide

The essentials for
Hand-tooled leather
Hand-tooled leather has carved and stamped detail, and that's where dust settles. Keep it clean with a soft, dry brush worked gently into the carving, then wipe with a barely damp cloth. Every three to six months, or more often in dry weather, work a little leather conditioner in with a soft cloth, let it absorb, then buff off the excess. Test on a hidden spot first. Painted or dyed accents need a lighter touch: no alcohol, solvents or strong cleaners, which can lift the colour.
Hand-tooled pieces
The essentials for
Shearling
Shearling pairs soft wool with a suede-like hide. Shake it out and brush the wool gently to keep it lofted. Blot small marks with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water, taking care not to soak through, and let it air-dry naturally, away from heat. Store it in a breathable bag, never plastic.

Brogan is a softly rounded sling bag built around a genuinely different material story: a front panel of fluffy, clipped shearling — sheepskin tanned and dressed with the wool left on — set against a back panel and strap in supple leather. The shape is formed using artisanal, hand-finished techniques rather than the tooled floral carving found on Cuerava's cowhide styles, and the whole piece closes along a smooth zipper.
Every Brogan is cut from a genuine shearling hide, so the density and exact texture of the fur, and the leather's own grain, are yours alone — a feature of natural shearling and leather, never a flaw, and the reason no two Brogans are ever quite the same.
